The US Embassy in Podgorica has begun construction of a new $ 296 million embassy complex, due to be completed in 2025. it was announced September 20 during the presentation of this project, which is by far the largest American investment in Montenegro.

At the presentation of the building of the future new US Embassy in Podorica, it was said that about 380 workers from America, Montenegro and citizens from third countries would be involved in its construction.
The United States has been officially present in Montenegro since 2002, when the US mission building was opened in Podgorica, and had consular status until 2006, when it was converted into an embassy following an independence referendum.
