According to Monstat, real estate prices in the country are 11,5% higher than in the same period last year. The average price per square meter of housing in Montenegro jumped in the second quarter to 1380 euros.
Compared to the previous quarter, the average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building is 8,7 percent higher.
The average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building largely depends on the number of apartments that are classified as social housingMonstat explained. If the share of these apartments is higher, the average price will be significantly lower, and vice versa.
The average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building in Podgorica in the second quarter amounted to 1390 euros. On the coast, it amounted to 1470 euros, in the central region - 611 euros, and in the north, the average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building was 915 euros.
