Construction of 5-star Marriott Hotel begins in Kotor

In the heart of Kotor, not far from the Old Town, on the coastal area (on the site of the former URC Hospitality and Leisure Center), the construction of a five-star hotel has begun Marriott luxury class.

The hotel and tourist complex is being built by the Montenegrin-Estonian company CG Hotel. The work is being carried out by the Briv construction company from Kotor.

“This is the building of the Marriott hotel chain. The site area of the complex is 7 m475. The total construction area of the building is 2 m13,” the local administration said.

Work began at the end of August, as announced by the mayor of the city Vladimir Jokic at a meeting of parliament. He added that with the removal of parking at the URC site, the city would be left without 250 parking spaces, expressing the hope that this would replace the parking lot at the former Avtoboka site.

Портал eGateway wrote about this project in April 2021, when the state architect approved the preliminary design of the new hotel.

As indicated in the conceptual solution, in addition to the construction of a high category hotel complex, it is also planned to equip a swimming pool and a public promenade (along the banks of the Shkurda River).

Landscaping at the Marriott Hotel

Residential blocks will be located on the upper floors. The Wellness & Spa Center will be located in the central part of the building, extending along the facade overlooking the sea. The indoor pool is part of the spa. It will have an extension in the form of an outdoor terrace, which also runs parallel to the facade and connects to a 10m x 20m outdoor swimming pool. The area between the open terrace and the building is ennobled with greenery, both in terms of a pleasant atmosphere and in terms of visual and functional distance from the premises directly adjacent to them. The proposed architectural direction is aimed at preserving the authentic architecture of Kotor, adapting and improving the existing landscape.

In total, the hotel will have 120 accommodation units - standard rooms and suites. All rooms and suites have access to the terrace. The only exceptions are eight residential units, where priority is given to the aesthetic individuality of the object. Rooms on a secluded floor overlook the green terraces. All accommodation facilities will correspond to the 5+ hotel category.

The building also has two underground floors, where parking spaces are located, as well as all office and utility rooms necessary for the operation of the hotel according to the conceptual solution, reports eKapija.
