Montenegrin state-owned company Monteput has signed a contract to develop design documentation for the construction of a new section highway Bar – Bolyareconnecting Andrijevica, Berane and BolyarThis project is an important stage in the development of the national transport network and will provide improved connections between the central and northern parts of Montenegro.

According to the official statement Monteput, a consortium of companies has been selected as the contractor for the development of the conceptual design CDS Project – Via Project – Geotin MNE.

Cost of design work: EUR 3 (excluding VAT)
Completion date: 14 months from the date of signing the contract
The development of design documentation is part of a large-scale strategy for the modernization of Montenegro's road infrastructure and the continuation of construction work highway Bar – Bolyare, a key route that will connect the country's Adriatic coast with Serbia.
Why is the Andrijevica – Berane – Boljare section important?
This area is a critical part of the Bar-Bolyare route, because he:

The Montenegrin government plans to complete the entire highway project, which is divided into several stages:
- Smokovac – Mateshevo (completed in 2022, 41 km)
- Mateshevo – Andrijevice (in the design stage)
- Andrijevice – Berane – Bolyare (at the stage of development of design documentation)
Full implementation highway Bar – Bolyare will create a key transport corridor that will provide high-speed and comfortable communication between Montenegro and Serbia, and will also improve logistics for international transportation.
When will construction of the new site begin?
After completion of the conceptual design, which should be ready within 14 months, the stage of developing the main project and searching for funding will begin.
At the moment exact dates for the start of construction The Andrijevica – Berane – Boljare section has not been announced, however, Montenegrin authorities say work on the project will continue without delay.
The Ministry of Capital Investments has previously said that various financing options are being considered, including government investment, loans from international banks and partnerships with private investors.
