The Chedi Luštica Bay Hotel Receives Prestigious MICHELIN Key

The Chedi Luštica Bay Hotel was awarded in Montenegro MICHELIN key — one of the most prestigious awards in the global hospitality industry. The recognition was awarded as part of the inaugural edition of the Michelin Hotel Guide, which includes Montenegro in the 2025 list, marking a historic moment for the country's entire tourism industry.

Prestigious global recognition

Montenegro's inclusion in the MICHELIN International Hotel Guide officially cements its place on the global luxury tourism map. The Chedi Lustica Bay received one Michelin key, an award given to hotels that offer experiences beyond the norm, where every detail—from architecture to service—reflects the highest level of craftsmanship and personalized attention.

Michelin notes that the key system, introduced in 2024, was created in analogy with Michelin stars in gastronomy and is intended to highlight the best hotels in the world - those where “living becomes a true art.”

These hotels cover a variety of segments, from boutique hotels to large luxury resorts.

How the award is given

The MICHELIN Key is awarded based on an independent assessment by inspectors who analyze dozens of criteria—from comfort and service quality to atmosphere, design, and authenticity of the experience. Unlike the MICHELIN restaurant rating with its stars, the hotel guide focuses not on luxury, but on the extent to which a hotel stay provides a truly unique experience. Inclusion in this list signifies recognition in the international hospitality scene and guarantees the trust of travelers worldwide.

A symbol of the philosophy of hospitality

“For us, this key is a confirmation of our philosophy: quiet dedication, genuine hospitality and a commitment to excellence that guests feel and remember,” representatives said. The Chedi Lustica Bay.

The hotel is located in the heart coastal complex Lustica Bay, on a picturesque peninsula where modern design harmoniously blends with the natural beauty of the Adriatic coast.

Guests can enjoy panoramic sea views, a luxurious spa, infinity pools, and signature cuisine, where chefs create dishes inspired by Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.

In October, the hotel hosts a series of culinary events, Chef's Weeks, which highlight the brand's philosophy of creativity, respect for local ingredients, and attention to detail.

New status for Montenegro

The awarding of the key not only strengthened The Chedi Luštica Bay's reputation as one of the flagships of Montenegrin hospitality, but also marked an important step in positioning the country as a high-class destination.

Traditionally associated with natural beauty and boutique holidays, Montenegro is now cementing its status as a destination where luxury meets authenticity and sustainable tourism.

Experts note that Montenegro's inclusion in the Michelin Guide will open the door to further growth—attracting investment, raising industry standards, and increasing interest from discerning travelers.

MICHELIN Key: A New Sign of Global Quality

System MICHELIN Key was launched in 2024 and became the equivalent of the legendary Michelin stars for restaurants, but in the hotel industry.

One key symbolizes high quality, thoughtful service, and a unique atmosphere; two keys represent an exceptional combination of design and comfort; and three keys represent the absolute harmony of space, emotion, and a personalized approach.

Getting into the Michelin Guide is recognition not only for one hotel, but for the entire country, which is becoming a new point of attraction for international luxury tourism.
