The ruling Democratic Party of Socialists proposes to introduce an excursion fee for visiting Perast, one of the most beautiful cities of the Boka Kotor Bay.
DPS as an example points to the Old Town in Kotor. In the first seven months, 305 thousand people visited him as part of group excursions. By the end of the year, at least 550 thousand are expected. When collecting 1 euro per person (for tourist groups from 5 people), the expected income of the municipality will reach 550 thousand euros.
In the municipality of Kotor, the second most popular city is Perast. The proceeds from the excursion tax here can be at least 250 thousand euros, according to the traffic police.
