Only 1% of real estate in Montenegro legalized this year

Since July 15 of last year, when the deadline for filing applications for the legalization of real estate objects, only 643 objects (1,2%) received approval.

Appeals are dealt with locally. Legalization of about 3800 objects was denied due to their inconsistency with the plans of the territories and unresolved land issues. The authors of 24 thousand applications submitted incomplete project documentation.

All requests were processed in Kotor, Kolasin, Plevle, Bielo-Pole and Petnitsa, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro reported. From legalization received 1,14 million euros. The leaders in collecting payments are Bielo-Pole, Budva, Niksic and Tivat.

After the legalization period expired, another 2400 applications were received. They should be rejected by local authorities, the ministry emphasized.

It is possible that the authorities will provide another opportunity to legitimize their property. The decision will be made next year.
