The bypass road will begin to be built in 2021. The highway will be 30 km long. The road will become part of the Adriatic-Ionian Highway, which will connect Montenegro with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
The project is being implemented with funds from the European Union. 40 million euros will be allocated to build a highway around the country's main resort. According to the Ministry of Transport of Montenegro, a bypass road is also planned to be built in Herceg Novi, Tivat and Bar. But the priority is the area around Budva, the department added.
A project is currently under development, including the estimated impact of the road on the environment.
