First same-sex marriage registered in Budva

The first registered same-sex marriage was Budva between two young women who are from the Balkans but live and work abroad.

According to the secretary of local self-government Milizhana Vukotiv Jelushic, the institution has provided a register of partnerships, a prescribed extract from the register, which is handed over to partners immediately after marriage, as well as the presence of witnesses in accordance with the law.

Recall that since July 17, same-sex couples in Montenegro can apply for formal registration of the relationship.
