The ancient Catholic church of St. Leopold was reconstructed

The Temple of St. Leopold is a small Catholic church in the town of Herceg Novi. It was built in 1688 by order of Jerome Corner, and it was in this year that the city was liberated from the Turks and its conquest by Venice. The Church in honor of the Virgin Mary was erected on the foundations of a destroyed Turkish mosque. However, later it was dedicated to Saint Francis, and since 1976 to Saint Leopold Mandic, who was born in Herceg Novi and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1983.

The cost of the renovation project is € 81, including the renovation of the roof and interior walls In addition, the doors and windows were put in order. The work was supervised by the Office for the Protection of Cultural Property.
