New measures and requirements for PCR tests in Montenegro

State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Borko Bajic said that a new measure will be introduced from January 26 to prevent the spread of the virus. Thus, every citizen of both Montenegro and another country who arrives from the UK must have a negative PCR test result no older than 72 hours.

The rest of the measures are valid until February 10:

1. Curfew from 22:00 to 05:00. An exception is walking pets (maximum 60 minutes).
2. Cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and shopping centers are open from 7:00 to 20:00. The operation of children's playrooms is prohibited.
3. You can move between cities and opstins without restrictions.
4. It is forbidden to gather outdoors in groups of more than four adults.
5. Religious ceremonies and gatherings are allowed on condition - one person per 10 sq.m.
6. Obligatory wearing of masks outdoors and indoors.
7. Ban on renting housing for more than two people, except for members of the same family.
8. Entry to Montenegro is allowed for everyone without a PCR test, with the exception of those arriving from the UK.

“The epidemiological situation in the country is complex and indicates that there is no place for relaxation. However, over the past week, there has been a slight decrease in the incidence, ”said Igor Galich, director of the Institute of Public Health.

Answering journalists' questions, Galich noted that the new measure was introduced because the largest number of cases of infection with a new virus strain occurs in the UK.

As for vaccinations, Galich said that the exact date of arrival of the vaccines is still unknown.

Recall that Montenegro plans to receive Chinese vaccine Sinopharm in the end of January. However, vaccination of citizens will begin with the Pfizer vaccine, which has a European certificate.
