New quarantine measures are in effect in Montenegro from today

Director of the Institute of Public Health Igor Galich spoke at a press conference yesterday. He announced new quarantine measures that take effect on February 11 and will be in effect for the next 15 days.

New quarantine measures that are in effect throughout the country:

  1. The opening hours of restaurants, cafes and shops are from 7:00 to 18:00.
  2. Curfew from 21:00 to 5:00. An exception is walking pets, but no more than 60 minutes a day.
  3. Intercity traffic is prohibited on weekends.
  4. Excursions, live music performances, children's playrooms are prohibited.

New quarantine measures for Budva and Tivat:

  1. The work of restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, non-food stores, hairdressers, gyms and hotels is prohibited.
  2. It is forbidden to go to the beach and walk in parks, squares, etc.
  3. Kindergartens and schools are switching to online learning.
  4. Outdoor and indoor meetings are prohibited.
  5. Playgrounds and outdoor gyms are closed.
  6. Prohibition of intercity movement, including weekdays and weekends.

The police will exercise increased control over the wearing of masks on the street.

New rules of entry to Montenegro

Mandatory PCR test not older than 72 hours is required for entry from Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Israel, India, Bahrain, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, USA, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic.

For entry from other countries No PCR test is required.


Also Igor Galich noted that the epidemiological situation in Montenegro is difficult.

“We have a tendency to increase the number of patients. We currently have just over 8000 active cases. A large number of active cases of coronavirus have been reported worldwide. On the eve of the New Year and Christmas, we did not find an active growth of new cases. However, recently we have seen an increase in the incidence rate, which puts Montenegro at a high level among all countries in the world. "

Health Minister Elena Borovinich Bojovic said that the same epidemiological measures as in Budva and Tivat will be introduced in all other municipalities, which will reach 2 cases per 000 inhabitants.

The number of cases in the last day

The laboratory of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, as well as other public and private laboratories diagnosing COVID-19, analyzed 1850 samples. Of these, 577 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified over the past day. Another 10 people have died from COVID-19.

According to the Institute of Public Health, of the 10 who died from COVID-19, the oldest was 90 years old, and the youngest was 52 years old.

It is noted that the total number of detected infections in Montenegro is currently 66, and the number of deaths from COVID-234 has reached 19.
