Ambassador of Slovenia to Montenegro Gregor Presher confirmedthat one of the priorities of Slovenia's presidency in the European Union (EU) is the integration of the Western Balkans region with the EU and, therefore, with Montenegro.
It is important, according to him, to carry out reforms now, and not only for the sake of joining the European Union in 2024but also for the welfare of all citizens.
And, apparently, if the official Brisel ignores this space, the door opens to third parties.
“Not only your president stressed, but also representatives of the Slovenian authorities noted that this is one segment that everyone understands from all sides, and therefore we are even more attentive and careful, and we want the Western Balkans, Montenegro to enter as soon as possible. EU. Of course, on the one hand, this is a political and geostrategic process, and, on the other, it is a technocratic process that requires the fulfillment of certain conditions so that states get approval as soon as possible to join the EU, ”Presker said.
