EU allocates over €3 billion for projects in the Balkans

The European Commission announced allocation 3,2 billion euros for 21 projects in the Western Balkans. This is reported by the Albanian news agency Telegraph.

According to journalists, the funds will be allocated for the construction of transport infrastructure, digitalization, combating climate change and supporting energy infrastructure.

This is the first package of projects implemented under the EU investment plan, approved back in October 2020. It is expected that the funds will be issued in the form of grants, soft loans and guarantees. The goal of the plan was to reduce the gap in living standards in the EU and in the Western Balkans - in Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
