According to the Montenegrin statistical office Monstate, the number of companies and entrepreneurs in Montenegro in 2021 amounted to 39, which, compared to 682, when there were 2020, represents an increase of 37% in percentage terms.
The largest number of active entrepreneurs in 2021 is in Podgorica - 14, which is 145% of the total, and the smallest - in the municipality of Petnica - 35,6, or 31% of the total.
According to the form of ownership, more than 99% of the total number of economic entities in Montenegro are in private ownership. The same situation was recorded in 2020.
In Montenegro, small enterprises are the most represented, accounting for more than 99% of the total number of active enterprises.
