Montenegro calculates losses from non-working Sunday for trading

Introduction non-working sunday in the trade sector was affected by a decrease in turnover, wage cuts and layoffs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PKCG) said, adding that Sunday should be a working day for trade, reports CDM.

Shopping centers claim a loss of one million euros per month due to the decision to introduce a non-working Sunday in the trade sector, which has been in effect for two and a half years.

“Due to the non-working week alone, the drop in revenue in shopping centers amounted to about 20 percent, and together with the consequences of the crisis, this drop was much larger. The consequences were reflected in the fact that many employers left the Delta city shopping center,” said Milica Lazarevich, secretary of the PKCG Trade Committee.

Tourist countries are not characterized by a law that implies a non-working Sunday. For a successful tourist season and the supply of hotels and catering facilities, it is necessary to work every day, representatives of the trade sector believe.
