The Minister of Finance and Social Security of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, announced the creation of a blockchain authority and cryptocurrency, Said RTCG.
The Authority, as announced, aims to create a new pillar of the Montenegrin economy through the regulation of the crypto market in Montenegro.
“The Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Department of the Ministry of Finance will help the citizens of Montenegro to get acquainted with the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, as well as establish a safe and fair regulatory framework for the growth of this branch of our economy,” the minister said in a statement.

A week earlier, the Ministry of Finance and Social Security (IFSS) announced that one of the biggest experts in the blockchain industry, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin received Montenegrin citizenship.
“Vitalik Buterin, as the most famous name in this industry and the founder of Ethereum, will further promote Montenegro and the overall development crypto industry in our country. Montenegro is working to create a legislative framework that will allow the best use of this technology and will contribute to the growth of the gross domestic product,” the IFSS said in a statement.
