Bar-Bolyare circuit: final preparations before opening

Bar-Bolyare track, connecting Smokovac and Mateševo will be open during this summer season, said Andrei Mikhailovich from Monteput, adding that testing of equipment and all electrical installations is currently at the final stage.

He stated that the installed systems are manufactured in accordance with European directives and global standards.

“We are all looking forward to the opening of the track, but we should not open it until all systems have been tested and until they give satisfactory results related to safety,” Mikhailovic said.

Speaking about the track, he stated that for the needs of maintenance, a contract was concluded for the purchase of 10 snowplows, and also that they have two specialized machines that will be used for winter and summer maintenance.

There are also two fire engines that specialize in working in tunnels and two smaller vehicles that will be used for the needs of the fire department.

This will serve to ensure the functioning of traffic in a priority area built on difficult terrain.

“At 42 km, we have 16 tunnels with two tunnel pipes, that is, in total, almost 32 tunnels. The longest of them is almost three kilometers - Veternik. There are many complex tunnels a kilometer or two long on this route, as well as more than 20 bridges,” Mikhailovich noted.

The entire track is accompanied by more than 560 cameras, which will be monitored by operators in the Command Center.

“All cameras in the tunnels have the ability to automatically detect incidents. As soon as one of the incidents is detected, be it a wrong direction, a stopped vehicle in a tunnel, smoke or fire, or the appearance of an unnatural object in a tunnel, it is automatically captured on the cameras in the command. center with an audible alarm, which will be registered by the operator on duty at the center. So the most modern systems have been installed,” says Mikhailovich.

Andrei Mikhailovich said that Monteput was very pleased with all the work done and cooperation with contractors, and numerous delegations visited them, as well as the Chinese ambassador, since the main contractor is the Chinese company CRBC. The plant was also visited by representatives of the Government of Montenegro, other delegations and officials, as well as suppliers.

“Everyone got the general impression that such an object is unique in the region, if not beyond its borders,” Mikhailovich concluded.
