On the first day of the launch of the Smokovac-Matesevo highway, a section of the Bar-Bolyare highway on July 14, 18 cars drove along it, the Montenegrin management company reports Monteput.
The section of the route, whose construction began in 2015 with a delay of two years, was solemnly opened on the evening of July 13, the day of the statehood of Montenegro.
The length of the route section is 41,5 km: 20 bridges on the main route, nine bridges at roundabouts, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7,2 km of concrete walls, 16 double-pipe tunnels.
Until July 21, the road is free, from July 21, the toll for motorcycles will be €1,5, for cars €3,5, and for buses and trucks €17.
The Government of Montenegro for the construction of this section took a loan from the Chinese bank Exim. The move increased the state's public debt by almost a billion euros.
