Montenegro became a part of "Digital Europe"

Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukay signed in Brussels, an agreement between the EU and Montenegro on the participation of our country in the Digital Europe program (“Digital Europe”) for the period 2021-2027.

Minister Dukai noted that the signing of the Agreement between European Union and Montenegro and the accession of Montenegro to the Digital Europe program is an important milestone and an important step on our way to a digital future and European values.
He stressed that with the support of partners from the European Union, Montenegro will accelerate the development of digital transformation, improve electronic services, improve methods for preventing cyber attacks and encourage digital education in order to provide citizens and the economy with modern technologies.

Joining the Digital Europe program, as the minister noted, gives Montenegro numerous advantages.

“Through investments, exchange of knowledge and experience with EU members, we strengthen international cooperation and the digital economy, encourage innovation and competitiveness,” Dukay said.

In this process, as he stressed, the citizens of Montenegro play a key role. “Government institutions, the digital and innovation community, as well as the academic and business community, research centers and the civil sector will be able to directly benefit,” Dukay said.

The Digital Europe program opens the door for Montenegro to participate in projects funded under the program in cooperation with partners from all over the EU, use the solutions developed under the program and keep pace with EU digital priorities. The total cost of this seven-year program is estimated at 7,5 billion euros.
