Contract with Dukley Marina for the use of the port in Budva will not be extended

The Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism proposed to the Government of Montenegro to reverse the decision of April 10, 2017, which allowed Dukley Marina to use the port in Budva after the expiration of the contract until the state finds a concessionaire. Dukley Marina is owned by American businessman Neil Emilfarb.

The request for cancellation was submitted to the ministry by the director of the management company Morsko dobro, Mladen Mikiel. He demanded to cancel the conclusion and return the management of the port in Budva to Marine Estate.

Mladen stated that the contract provided for the implementation of an investment program, which made it possible to extend the base contract for ten years. However, the investments were not made in accordance with the investment program, so the extension of the contract until 2027, according to Mladen, is absolutely unreasonable.

He also stated that the annexes to the temporary contract were concluded for 2018 and 2019, and the third annex for 2020 was not concluded, because the concessionaire, despite notices, did not come to its conclusion and did not pay the fee for 2020 on time. ...
