Exploration drilling on the Montenegrin shelf showed the geological predictions made by interpreting seismic data to be accurate, the Montenegrin Ministry of Capital Investment said.
According to the ministry, drilling will continue for another five months.
“The drilling is being carried out according to the plan and program. Control drilling is underway to clean up the borehole, as well as detailed logging to obtain critical reservoir data. At present, the channel is being drilled for the installation of the second column, ”the ministry said.
Topaz Driller, which arrived in Montenegro from Malta, began drilling the seabed on 25 March.
The Ministry of Capital Investments said that Montenegro will find out in five months, or rather by the end of August, whether there are significant reserves of hydrocarbons.
