He wrote on Twitter that in four months, from May 1 to August 31, 2,3 million foreigners arrived in Montenegro, which is five times more than in 2020.
The minister noted that in March, when the draft budget was submitted to parliament, few believed that tourist season could be like that.
“Let me remind you that in 2019, which was a record year, Montenegro earned 1,1 billion euros from tourism, and last year only 144 million, which is 87% less than in 2019! The budget for this year was planned from 660 to 710 million. euros (ie 60-65% of revenues from 2019) ”, - wrote Milatovic on Twitter.
