According to a study by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), of all European countries, the Montenegrin economy is most dependent on tourism.
According to these data, tourism accounts for 30,8% of Montenegro's GDP. Next to Montenegro in terms of the share of the tourism sector in GDP are Croatia with 24,8%, Iceland with 21,4%.
The economy of Russia depends the least on tourism - five percent, Poland - 4,8 percent, and in last place - Ireland with 4,2 percent.
