The inflow of foreign direct investment increased by 44%

Total inflow foreign direct investmentinvested in Montenegro at the end of August amounted to 758,22 million euros, which is 44,58 percent more than in the same period last year. According to preliminary data from the Central Bank (CBCG), the largest contribution to growth was made by investments in equity capital. At the same time, 198,89 million euros were withdrawn from the country.

“Net inflow of foreign direct investment amounted to 559,33 million euros, up 78,04 percent compared to the same period last year,” the CBCG bulletin says.

72,58 million euros flowed out of the country on the basis of residents' investments abroad, and the withdrawal of funds by non-residents invested in Montenegro amounted to 126,31 million euros.

The inflow of foreign direct investment in the form of equity investments amounted to 410,76 million euros, which is 54,17 percent of the total. Of these, €281,59 million was invested in real estate and €129,17 million in companies and banks.
