International trade network Lidl has currently bought three large locations in Montenegro for its future megastores. However, the company is still not talking about its plans in Montenegro, or the timing when Lidl stores will be able to open.
“Lidl is constantly looking at ways to expand its business. In terms of retail, Montenegro is a market where consumers want a model offered by Lidl that offers high quality products at the best prices. Because of this, Lidl is currently investing in possible locations for stores and logistics centers in Montenegro,” the company said in response to a question. The company representatives noted that they are currently unable to disclose details of their plans, location, and potential opening date.

Lidl Montenegro, founded by WE – International Zweite from Stuttgart, owns two offices in Podgorica and one in Niksic, according to the cadastral data of Lidl Montenegro. In the capital, they bought a municipal plot of about 14 square meters near the Montenegrin Radiotelevision building, where the Bolići company had previously announced the construction of a hotel and where they dug a huge hole back in 000.
According to municipal documents, last year the city treasury earned about 10,8 million euros from the sale of this place. They bought a plot of about 13 square meters from the Radoj Dakić Bankruptcy Office, for which they offered about four million euros.
The site is located on the site of a former factory, next to the highway to Niksic, opposite the current Franka market. According to the same documents, they bought the former administrative building of the bauxite mine in Niksic and the area around and behind it with an area of about eight thousand square meters.
The place is located on 13 July Boulevard, opposite the large megastore HDL Laković. It is not known how much they bought the site for, or whether they bought it directly from Bauxite's bankruptcy administration or from a reseller.
