A new hotel worth 13 million euros will be built in the north of Montenegro

Construction of a new large-capacity hotel will soon begin in the town of Plav, in the north of Montenegro, for the construction of which a local investor living abroad has contributed about 13 million euros. About it portal RTCG said the director of the local tourism organization (TO) Edo Feratovich.

He said that just the other day all the administrative prerequisites, permits and everything else were completed, and that the hotel could be put into operation as early as next year.

“The hotel will be built in a very attractive location, on the shores of Lake Plav. In addition to the Plavskoe Ozero Hotel, which is at the final stage of reconstruction, next year we will have improved rooms with high quality,” Feratovich said.

According to him, both new hotels will be connected with hotel chains on the Montenegrin coast, so Plav is expected to become a permanent tourist destination for guests who come to coast and want to visit Prokletie National Park in a few days.

“I think that with two hotels, in addition to all existing hotels, hostels, eco-villages and other private facilities, we will solve the problem of accommodation facilities in Plav that has been expressed so far,” Feratovich said.

The tourist season has begun in the north of Montenegro

He assessed that the tourist season in Plav and Prokletie National Park, despite the bad weather that existed a few days ago, started very well and expects it to surpass last year.

Feratovic said he didn't want to make too many promises, but added that he was very optimistic about the success of the tourist season this year.

“In addition to the already known events, in the second half of the year we will have several new events, and I hope that we will attract guests to visit Plav and the Prokletiye National Park,” said the director of TO Plav.

He recalled that the Lima regatta had just ended, as well as the third stage of the Scout League with hundreds of participants.

“Already tomorrow, a hiking trip called “Obroncima starca” begins, for which an unexpected number of tourists signed up not only from Montenegro, but also from the region. Now we have more than a hundred registered participants of this campaign. Prokletije is increasingly recognized as the great mountain and tourist resource of Montenegro,” said Feratovich.

According to the director of the TO "Plav", the ultimate goal is to maximize the extension of the tourist season in this northern city.

“We are trying to fulfill all the assumptions, including catering, so that the season in Plav lasts not only two summer months, but at least half a year, if not the whole year. To do this, we need to recognize all the shortcomings and do everything possible to eliminate them, ”added Feratovich.

He also announced already well-known events such as Blueberry Days, as well as a triathlon, which will take place on July 9th.

“It can be concluded that a large influx of tourists is already being felt, and a large diaspora from Plav is expected soon, when it is felt that this city is becoming a real tourist destination. With all that we have planned, I believe that a tourism revolution awaits us in the coming years,” said the director of the Plav tourist organization.

The director reminds us that according to all statistics, in 1980 more tourists were registered in Plav than in some of the most famous tourist towns on the Montenegrin coast.

“We must do our best to make Plav a tourist metropolis. And I believe that these two new large hotels, which should operate at full capacity next season, will contribute to this,” concluded the director of TO Plav.
