Budva is a real tourist capital of Montenegro. It is located in the central part of the country's Adriatic coast. This area is also often called the Budva Riviera. The city successfully combines all those components of an excellent vacation that invariably attract new guests to it.
The climate here is excellent - there are no pronounced temperature fluctuations, excessive precipitation or strong winds.
It is believed that Budva is one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic, and its age is about 2500 years. The Greeks, Romans and Venetians left their traces in the history of the city. During its existence, the city was destroyed during Turkish raids. And was also under the rule of the Austrians, French, Russians, Germans.
Currently, Budva is divided into the Old Town and the New Town. The Old Town is a picturesque historical part of Budva, with a fortress and old streets, located at the northern end of the bay. The New Town contains most of the hotels, cafes and restaurants. In the coastal waters of Budva is the island of St. Nicholas, to which ships regularly sail, transporting lovers of beach holidays.
Right next to the walls of the Old Town there are several famous beaches - Richard's Head, Pizana, as well as the beaches Mogren 1 and Mogren 2. By the way, on the road from the Old Town to the beaches of Mogren there is another symbol of Budva - the statue of the Ballerina, as if dancing in the sea foam.
The entire coastline of the Budva Riviera is 35 km, of which almost 13 km are directly on the beaches. This includes both the 16 most famous beaches and all the other lesser-known places for recreation on the seashore. All the beaches are mostly sandy or pebble spaces, located in the most beautiful places on the Adriatic coast.
But the largest beach in Budva is Slovenska plaža. It is along it that the embankment and Slovenska obala street are located - the main walking areas of the city. Here musicians perform, souvenirs are sold, and cozy cafes open their doors welcomingly.
