A company from Herceg Novi, Azmont Investments, has submitted a request to the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urban Development for a permit to build a heliport in the sea tourism port.
Montenegro already has helipads in Porto Montenegro in Tivat, at the Splendid Hotel in Becici. Helicopters can also land at the airports of Podgorica, Tivat, Berane and Niksic.
Azmont Investments operates the Portonovi tourist resort, which also includes a marina. The founder of the Herzegovina company is the Azerbaijani company "Azerbaijan Global Investments Limited Liability Company".
Portonovi opened its doors for visitors in 2019 and is one of the largest FDI in Montenegro. Azmont Investments has been operating in Montenegro since 2012.
